HydroTracker

Product
A water flow hall sensor is used here connected to a shower head, demonstrating how it will be used. The component is powered by a nano Arduino from within and a blueooth module is included for the water flow hall sensor-app connection.

Fabrication
We used laser-cut acrylic, acrylic sealer, and regular PVC pipe for our physical product. We used a nano Arduino--significantly smaller than a regular sized Arduino--to be able to fit inside the water-proof laser-cut acrylic box sealing our water flow hall sensor for maximum proficiency.

Market
HydroTracker's market is aimed at any homeowner anywhere in the rural, urban, and suburban areas. HydroTracker provides an easy-to-use and easy to install product that also is used for educational purposes, teaching the user about the tragic water shortages not only in the United States, but around the world. We surveyed a variety of people about a solution to the water crisis on Earth:
81.3% of people are aware of the water crisis around the world. This gives us an idea of how many people actually know about it
50% of the people do not think that they have the resources to conserve water. HydroTracker's device fixes this problem with its high accessibility.
From these survey results, we became even more aware of the water crisis. Multiple companies are able to sell our product, and we want to make an impact around the world to save out most valuable resource.

About Us

Sam Benoit is a current junior at The Leffell School. He designed the entire CAD model using Autodesk Fusion 360, programmed and designed the entire app, and created renderings and animations.

William Hirsch is a current junior at The Leffell School. He developed the entire market, connected the Arduino and water flow hall sensor components to the app using the bluetooth HM10 module he programmed.

Jonathan Shmul is a current junior at The Leffell School. He designed and fabricated the physical prototype including the scaled pipe system and fabricated the water proof protections for the electronic components.
